Closing for the Holidays

Holiday Closing

All college housing (including Residence Halls, Broad Street Apartments, and Fraternity/Sorority houses) will close for winter break at 12:00 (noon) on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023.  Students can depart from campus after their last final exam, but all students must be out by this date. Students are expected to complete the Winter Break Closing Process and vacate their rooms/college housing before the deadline to avoid receiving a late fee and/or student conduct sanctions.

Winter Break Check List

Please note, unless you are not returning or graduating LaGrange College at the end of the semester, you do not need to fully move out of your space – just bring what you need and any valuable items. There is a re-entry fee if you need to return for forgotten items. If you are only taking essentials or fully moving out, we encourage you to begin packing your things prior to finals to avoid creating additional stress.

Extended Stay Information

Individuals who need permission to stay in housing, will need to fill out the Extended Stay Form. All students, except for student-athletes in season (Men and Women’s Basketball) must be out of the residence halls no later than 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Approval will only be granted to students with a legitimate reason to stay and required to upload supporting documentation that explains the details of your request (i.e., staying for a sport, practice/game, if there is some extraneous circumstance, please explain in a word document, etc.) 

 

All requests must be submitted via the Teams form with attached documentation before the deadline of 12:00 Noon on Thursday, November 16, 2023, to receive consideration.The Housing and Student Life Office will email you the decision on your request after the review process (held Wednesday, November 29th). Communicate if that timeline creates an issue - requests will not be accepted after this date. You are not approved to stay unless you have received notice. Please note, no students will be approved to be on campus December 13th – January 7th as all College operations will be closed.

Student Not Returning

Not Returning Information Individuals who are not returning or graduating LaGrange College, will need to fill out the Not Returning Form. Before leaving, you will need to complete the following:

1. Schedule a move-out time with your RA.

2. Complete your room inventory form.

3. Return all keys (Room and mailbox keys)

Re-Opening Dates

Spring Term Opening:

Housing will remain closed for the winter break and will open for Spring Term 2024 at 9:00 AM Sunday, January 7, 2024.
